Richard Noss, UCL'de (University College London) Matematik Eğitimi Profesörüdür. Londra Bilgi Laboratuarı'nın kurucu direktörü, hükümet tarafından finanse edilen Teknoloji Geliştirilmiş Öğrenme Araştırma Programı direktörü ve AB Kaleidoscope Excellence Network müdür yardımcılığı görevlerini yürütmüştür. Noss, matematik alanında yüksek lisans ve matematik eğitimi alanında doktora sahibidir. Matematik Bilimleri Enstitüsü ve Sosyal Bilimler Akademisi Üyesi ve Bulgar Matematik Birliği'nin yabancı ve madalyalı davetli üyesidir. Noss aynı zamanda International Journal of Mathematical Learning Computer dergisinin editörlüğünü yürütmüştür. Şu anda Türk Bilgisayar ve Matematik Eğitimi Dergisi'nin editör kurulu üyesidir. Aynı zamanda doktora öğrencilerinden biri de Prof. Dr. Adnan Baki'dir.

Aisling Leavy, Limerick Üniversitesi Mary Immaculate College STEM Eğitim Departmanı’nın başkanıdır. Matematik Eğitimcisi olan Leavy, ilköğretim seviyesinde öğretmen adayları, uygulama öğretmenleri ve lisansüstü öğrencileri ile STEM eğitimi üzerine çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir. Çocukların matematiksel düşünmeleri, istatistiksel muhakemenin gelişimi, kavramsal istatistiğin kavramsal anlamasını geliştirme odaklı öğretim ve araştırma yöntemleri Leavy’nin çalışma alanlarından bazılarıdır.

Leavy aynı zamanda Irish Educational Studies dergisinin genel editörü ve Statistics Educational Research Journal dergisinin yardımcı editörlüğü görevini yürütmektedir. California State Üniversitesi’nde lisans, St. Patrick's College Drumcondra’da yüksek lisans derecesini alan Leavy, doktorasını Arizona State Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. Mevcut görevinden önce Maryland Üniversitesi’nde öğretim üyesi olarak çalıştı.

Dean of HEI - School of Education, Communication and Sport, Polytechnic of Guarda, since 01/2015. Member of the Executive Commission of CEI - (Centro de Estudos Ibéricos http://www.cei.pt/cei/estrutura.htm) since 01/2015. Member of the board of UDI from 02/2012 until 12/2014 (Research Unit for Inland Development http://www.ipg.pt/udi/). Develops research in the area of Mathematics Education, ICT, Multicultural Education, ICT and Inclusion, Innovation in Education and Entrepreneurship Education. Has several scientific publications and develops activity with different HEI from Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Germany, Albania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Brasil, Colombia, Cabo-Verde, Angola among others, is evaluator for ERASMUS+ Portuguese Agency and European COST projects.  


 






 
Prof. Dr. Amy Ellis

Keynote Title: Supporting Sudents' Engagement in Authentic Mathematical Activity: Designing Instruction for Conjecturing, Generalizing, and Proving
 
 
Amy Ellis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Georgia. She received her Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University. Dr. Ellis also holds a bachelor's and master's degree in mathematics. Prior to her appointment at the University of Georgia, Dr. Ellis taught secondary school in California and then spent 12 years as a professor at the University of Wisconsin. In her current position, she enjoys working with pre-service secondary teachers. Dr. Ellis studies student learning in middle school and high school, particularly as it relates to algebra, generalization, and proof, as well as teachers' pedagogical practices aimed at fostering meaningful student engagement. She has received 13 grants from national and state organizations, and currently serves as the project lead on an NSF-funded project investigating students' mathematical generalizations. She received the Early Career Publication Award from the SIG-RME division of AERA for her research on generalization and proof, and her work has been published in the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, the Journal of the Learning Sciences, Cognition and Instruction, Mathematical Thinking and Learning, and Science, among others. Dr. Ellis has also co-authored three books for practicing teachers on ratio and proportion, mathematical reasoning, and generalization and proof.

He is also a lecturer at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR, Spain), Universidad Autónoma de Asunción (Paraguay), Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (Argentina). Visiting Lecturer at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (Paraguay), Universidad del Pacífico (Paraguay), University "1 Decembrie 1918" Alba Iulia (Romania). He has been a invited lecturer at the Universities of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Monserrate University Foundation (Colombia), Integrated Faculties of Amparo (SP, Brazil), Haslev College of Education (Denmark), National University of Asunción (Paraguay), National University of Ireland Maynooth (Ireland), University of Messina (Italy), University of Costa Rica and Latina University of Costa Rica.
 
He has published articles in national and international journals and published books on teacher training, innovation, educational reform and educational technology in Spain, Argentina, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Brazil.
 
Co-founder of the Andalusian Startups Association.

Doç. Dr. Wee Tiong Seah
University of Melbourne, Australia

Keynote Title: Mathematics Education in the 4th Industrial Revolution: The role of AI
 

Wee Tiong SEAH is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Before embarking on a career as an academic, Wee Tiong has had extensive professional experience in mathematics teaching and pastoral care across a range of school settings in Singapore and Australia. Wee Tiong’s research and professional interests focus on sociocultural, conative and affective aspects of learning, which all complement and support psychological understanding of the individual learner. Attributes of interest include values and mindsets of students, teachers, parents, etc as they relate to mathematics pedagogy. He currently coordinates a multinational research team in a series of research studies relating to the harnessing of values to promote more effective teaching and learning of mathematics in schools. These activities are all part of the Third Wave research project which Wee Tiong set up in 2008.

Wee Tiong was an invited speaker to some 800 principals and school leaders at last year’s Victoria’s Regional Leadership Conference in Australia. He was also one of 4 plenary panelists at last year’s Psychology in Mathematics Education conference held in Sweden. Wee Tiong conducts collaborative research and consultancy activities in no less than 8 countries across Australia and Asia.
